Agreement

By using Mermaid Editor (mermaideditor.io) or the Mermaid Anywhere Chrome extension, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. These services are operated by Starmorph.

Description of Service

Mermaid Editor is a web-based tool for creating, editing, and exporting diagrams using Mermaid syntax. Mermaid Anywhere is a Chrome extension that renders Mermaid code blocks on any web page. Both are provided "as is" without warranty.

Free and Paid Features

• The core editor is free to use with no account required. Diagrams are stored locally in your browser.
• Pro features (high-resolution export, watermark removal, AI diagram generation) require a paid subscription or per-export purchase.
• Pricing is displayed at the time of purchase. All payments are processed by Stripe.
• We reserve the right to change pricing or feature availability with reasonable notice.

Subscriptions and Refunds

• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual). You can cancel at any time from your account settings.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to Pro features until then.
• Refunds for subscriptions are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@starmorph.com within 7 days of purchase.
• Single-export purchases are non-refundable once the export has been downloaded.

Your Content

• You retain full ownership of all diagrams you create. We claim no rights to your content.
• Diagrams created with the free tier may include a small watermark on exported files. This watermark does not affect your ownership.
• When you share a diagram via URL, the diagram code is encoded in the URL itself. Anyone with the URL can view and edit the diagram.

AI Features

• AI diagram generation uses third-party AI providers (Anthropic, Google). Generated output may not always be accurate or syntactically correct.
• You are responsible for reviewing and validating AI-generated diagrams before using them in production.
• AI usage is subject to rate limits. Free users receive a limited number of AI generations per session. Pro users receive higher limits.

Chrome Extension

• Mermaid Anywhere renders Mermaid code blocks found on web pages. It modifies the visual presentation of pages but does not alter the underlying page content or data.
• The extension is provided free of charge with no data collection.
• We are not responsible for rendering errors caused by malformed Mermaid syntax on third-party websites.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service to generate, store, or distribute illegal, harmful, or abusive content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from our proprietary systems
• Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or payment requirements
• Resell or redistribute the service without written permission

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Starmorph shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or use, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. For paid users, we will provide reasonable notice before removing features included in their subscription.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
